Allocate additional inventory costs and sales expenses

Procedure

  1. Choose the expense item and allocation target. For inventory cost, open the allocation-rule catalog and its inventory-cost settings. For sales cost, inspect the base in the expense item.
  2. Select an explicit allocation base such as quantity, value, weight or volume and define the item/document/warehouse filter.
  3. Record the expense with the correct analytic reference and inspect the unallocated amount.
  4. Open Expense allocation for the company, period, item and analytics; inspect the inherited rule and choose the accounting type supported by this implementation.
  5. Preview the allocation report/base, check zero or missing bases and compare shares with an independent small example.
  6. Run the authorized allocation/cost-closing step, then regenerate cost/gross-profit/expense reports. Reconcile the full source amount to allocated and remaining amounts.
  7. For an expense linked to goods sold in another period or a transfer, test the explicit available setting and report effect separately.
