Calculate prices from another price or purchase basis

Procedure

  1. Create a price type and choose its supported calculation method: another price, purchase document, supplier/competitor prices or cost basis.
  2. Set the source price/type, analysis depth, currency, VAT inclusion basis, markup and rounding. Assign an item price group if the rule varies by group.
  3. In Prices (price list), generate only the intended items and include influencing and dependent price columns.
  4. Calculate the result and compare source, markup, currency conversion and rounding on one known item. For cost-based methods, identify whether additional expenses are included and whether cost calculation is current.
  5. Apply the changed prices, inspect the resulting price-setting document/history, then verify the selected price in a new sales document.
  6. Change the source value in a controlled example and check which dependent values recalculate and which require an explicit new registration.
