Receive and ship items made of several handling units

Define the item’s package composition and coefficients. Distinguish whole product units from separate packages such as body, doors and fittings.

Start at Warehouse and delivery > Receipt; Goods issue from warehouse; Inventory count sheets.

Procedure

  1. Create the goods receipt from its instruction. Review the multiple rows for the same item and the package type shown as unit of measure.
  2. Count and enter each handling-unit quantity independently. Fill expected quantities only after actual counts confirm them.
  3. Run the available package-composition validation and resolve incomplete/excess combinations before posting. Do not enter missing components merely to make a whole-item check pass.
  4. For bin picking, create picking tasks for the handling units making up the required whole products. After execution use the action to fill from completed picking in the goods issue.
  5. Review any extra handling units and set the non-shipment action where appropriate. Return surplus packages from the shipping zone to storage through the warehouse process.
  6. Complete shipment and compare warehouse package quantities with whole-product quantities in financial documents. During counts, reconcile each package type rather than only complete sets.

Check the result

The issued/received handling units form the intended whole products and surplus components remain visible.

If the result differs

Whole-product validation fails: recount each package/component and check coefficients. Extra packages remain: record them as not shipped and return them through warehouse tasks.
