Count stock assigned to different orders
Identify each order assignment and how goods are physically distinguished by labels or bins. A shared item code does not establish which assignment owns its reserve.
Start at Warehouse and delivery > Inventory count sheets.
Procedure
- Filter the count to the warehouse/bin and assigned stock. Review the purpose/assignment column when filling accounting balances.
- For physically distinguishable goods count the quantity for each assignment separately, retaining item, batch and unit.
- If identical goods cannot be distinguished, review storage-location segregation and records before assigning quantities. Do not distribute a shortage arbitrarily across customer orders.
- Where manual assignment is needed, use the purpose selection form and inspect assigned goods available in the selected bin. Split rows for different assignments.
- Enter actual quantities through the count’s result-entry stage. Complete/save using the status process configured for that specific warehouse scheme.
- Resolve discrepancies through inventory adjustments, preserving assignment and owner distinctions. Recheck demand fulfillment as well as total physical stock.
Check the result
Total counted stock reconciles and each order retains an explainable assigned balance after discrepancy processing.
If the result differs
Assignment cannot be identified: reconcile physical labeling/bin segregation before allocation. Total count agrees but an order is short: review assignment distribution instead of changing the total.
