Transfer goods between rooms in the same warehouse

Use a warehouse divided into rooms/storage areas. Identify source and receiving areas and whether each uses address bins.

Start at Warehouse and delivery > Warehouse documents.

Procedure

  1. Create a room-to-room warehouse transfer order for this warehouse and specify sending and receiving areas. This differs from a transfer between two warehouses.
  2. Enter actual item, quantity, package and batch. Set the picking stage if goods must first be retrieved from bins.
  3. For address bins generate and execute a picking task; for reference placement print the picking instruction where available.
  4. Move through verification and dispatch according to actual handover. Do not confirm receipt before goods reach the receiving area.
  5. Confirm receipt in the receiving area. For address-managed storage create/complete a placement task; for informational bins use the corresponding placement action.
  6. Compare source-area decrease, receiving-area increase and warehouse total. Investigate remaining in-transit or receiving-zone quantity.

Check the result

The warehouse total is conserved while room/bin location changes and both handover stages are complete.

If the result differs

Receiving area has no stock: inspect the room transfer’s dispatch/receipt stage and pending placement. Warehouse total differs: check duplicate room and cross-warehouse documents.
