Receive and ship goods using packing lists

Use a warehouse scheme supporting packing lists and known package contents/barcodes. A package label is not evidence of verified physical contents.

Start at Warehouse and delivery > Packing lists; Receipt; Goods issue from warehouse.

Procedure

  1. Create an inbound packing list from the supplier/transfer basis or manually. Record incoming number, barcode and actual item composition, including batches where available.
  2. In warehouse receiving, scan/select the packing list. Review the recognized contents before accepting the package; resolve unknown barcodes instead of assigning an arbitrary existing list.
  3. Choose whether to verify package contents and use unpack/navigation controls for nested lists. Accept without unpacking only where the company’s receiving policy permits it.
  4. Complete receiving quantities and batches. A preliminary receipt for package counts does not represent completed item acceptance.
  5. For shipment, select the intended goods issue rows and use its packing action, or open check-and-pack and create/select the current packing list.
  6. When scanning items, change the current packing list before filling another package. Review every list’s composition and use the packing-list assignment action to correct selected rows if necessary.
  7. Print the package label and packing list, then complete the goods issue. Compare package composition with actual shipment and warehouse quantities.

Check the result

Every scanned package resolves to the intended contents and no item is counted both inside a list and as an extra loose item.

If the result differs

Package barcode is unknown: resolve its packing list and composition before accepting it. Items appear twice: check loose lines against nested packing-list contents.
