Return internally used goods to stock or reverse an expense issue
The other-goods-receipt operation must be available for internal-use returns or expense reversals.
Use the original internal consumption/use document and actual goods being returned. Distinguish goods returned from use from a correction of an erroneous expense write-off.
Start at Warehouse and delivery > Internal documents (all).
Procedure
- Open Internal documents (all) and create Other Goods Receipt if the feature is available for the company.
- Choose return from use for goods coming back from use, or reversal of expense write-off for the supported reversal scenario.
- Identify company, receiving warehouse and the original department/expense basis. Select the actual item, quantity, unit and batch.
- Compare the returned quantity with the original issue and earlier returns. Resolve any different quality or damaged goods before recording normal stock.
- Review the resulting document and complete the required warehouse receipt if the receiving scheme separates physical acceptance.
- Generate stock and expense/use reports. Check that the actual return is received once and the intended expense/use balance is corrected separately.
Check the result
Physical stock increase matches actual goods returned and is traceable to the original internal issue.
If the result differs
Return exceeds original issue: inspect earlier returns and actual available goods. Stock changes twice: review whether the receipt scheme already recorded the physical return.
