Correct picked quantities and receive goods refused at delivery
Identify whether goods are still in the shipping zone, already dispatched, or physically returned. Keep the original shipment basis.
Start at Warehouse and delivery > Goods issue from warehouse; Receipt.
Procedure
- For goods still awaiting shipment, notify the warehouse of the approved quantity change and physically separate the excess from the intended shipment.
- Open the issue’s quantity correction/packing action where it is available. Cancel a complete line or split it for a partial reduction; review the corresponding source-order quantity.
- Update the manager’s source instruction as required. Return excess picked stock from the shipping zone to storage through receiving/putaway, not by leaving it as shipped.
- For an approved increase, create/process the additional picking need and check actual availability rather than editing a completed task to invent stock.
- If goods were shipped and physically refused, use the receiving action for goods refused by the recipient. Select the original shipment using the action to select original shipment documents.
- Use the action to fill the shipped quantity, then reduce it to the actual returned quantity and verify batch. Complete physical receipt and any putaway required.
- Review stock and the source order’s remainder. Handle financial discrepancy/credit separately; check whether a posted discrepancy document prevents direct quantity correction.
Check the result
The corrected shipment equals goods handed over, and physically returned goods enter stock once with the original shipment traceable.
If the result differs
Correction is unavailable after a discrepancy: use the supported discrepancy/physical-return workflow. Excess remains in shipping: complete its return to storage and check zone stock.
