Put received goods away into bins

Use an address-managed warehouse with receiving zone, bins and putaway rules already configured. Receiving and final bin placement are separate stages.

Start at Warehouse and delivery > Receipt.

Procedure

  1. Create the receipt for the receiving zone, items, packages and batches and confirm actual acceptance.
  2. Open the putaway tab. Select only goods physically present in the receiving zone and use the putaway task creation action.
  3. Choose work-area grouping and any weight/volume limits. Review automatically selected bins against capacity, package and storage rules before creating tasks.
  4. Assign the worker, set the task to its in-progress stage and print the warehouse task where used. Avoid issuing the same task to two workers.
  5. Move the goods physically to the designated bins. Enter actual placed quantities against planned quantities; use actual results rather than copying the plan without checking.
  6. Mark a task successfully completed only when the entire task was performed. For partial placement record completion with errors, retain unplaced quantities in the receiving zone and create a new task after resolving the obstacle.
  7. Check the receiving-zone remainder and bin stock. Receipt acceptance alone must not be interpreted as completed putaway.

Check the result

Placed + remaining receiving-zone quantity equals accepted quantity, with batch identity retained.

If the result differs

No placement task: check receiving-zone stock, rule eligibility and existing tasks. Partial placement: retain the unplaced balance and record actual quantities before creating another task.
